See The World: Speakers Corner, Hyde Park, London

All the pictures from our See The World section aren't just professional ones taken from google, they are real pictures taken by real people who have visited or live there themselves.

Speakers' Corner is an area where public speaking is allowed. The original and most noted is in the north-east corner of Hyde Park in London, England. Speakers there are allowed to speak as long as the police consider their speeches lawful. Contrary to popular belief, there is no immunity from the law, nor are any subjects proscribed, but in practice the police tend to be tolerant and therefore only intervene when they receive a complaint or if they hear profanity.

In speakers corner anyone can stand on a box and just start to speak about anything and the public who listen to them and go into debate with them. As a result you find people with racist views telling everyone to go home, people saying the British government are racist, Socialists arguing against capitalism, people saying that they are Jesus and more.
